IT Influentials was originally founded in 2006 by Peter Westerman.

Peter previously held several senior management positions at the intersection of technology and media including Publisher of Dr. Dobbs Journal, Microsoft Systems Journal, Software Development Magazine, C/C++ Users Journal, Windows Developers Journal, Mathematica Journal; Senior Vice President of Audience Marketing at Ziff Davis Enterprise; several roles at ALM Global including Vice President Product & Data Strategy, Vice President Content/Group Editor-in-Chief Regulated Markets, and Vice President/Market Development & Audience Insights.

Drawing on this experience, he recently launched AI News Cafe, a site exploring the impact of AI on journalism — and the packaging and marketing of journalism.
