⚡ 5-Minute Setup
1 Install the Plugin
Upload and activate the GD Chatbot plugin from your WordPress admin:
- Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
- Choose
gd-chatbot-2.2.0.zip - Click Install Now then Activate
2 Configure API Keys
Navigate to GD Chatbot v2 → Settings and enter your API credentials:
🤖 Claude API (Required)
Get your API key from Anthropic Console
- Model: claude-sonnet-4-20250514
- Temperature: 0.7
- Max tokens: 4096
🔍 Tavily API (Optional)
Get your API key from Tavily
- Enables real-time web search
- Trusted domain filtering
- Search depth: basic/advanced
📌 Pinecone API (Optional)
Get your API key from Pinecone
- Vector database for semantic search
- Requires index name and namespace
- Top-K results: 5
3 Sync Archive.org Data (New!)
Enable music streaming by syncing the Archive.org database:
- Go to GD Chatbot v2 → Music Streaming
- Click “Sync All Years”
- Wait 5-10 minutes for completion
- Verify 2,340+ shows are synced
4 Add to Your Site
Display the chatbot using the shortcode:
Or enable the floating widget from Settings → Shortcode
5 Test It!
- Open the chatbot on your site
- Ask: “Tell me about Dark Star”
- Click the blue “Dark Star” link
- Modal opens with Archive.org performances
- Click “Play” to listen
🎵 Optional: Connect Streaming Services
For Administrators
Configure API credentials for streaming services:
- Go to GD Chatbot v2 → Settings → Streaming Services
- Create developer accounts on desired services
- Enter Client ID and Client Secret for each service
- Add the Redirect URI to each service’s app settings
- Click “Test Connection” to verify
- Click “Save All Configurations”
For Users
Once services are configured, users can connect their accounts:
- Go to Users → Your Profile
- Scroll to “Music Streaming Services”
- Click “Connect [Service]”
- Authorize in the popup window
- Service appears as a tab in the song modal

- Default Sort: Most Popular, Date, or Rating
- Result Limit: 10-100 performances per song
- Cache Duration: 1-168 hours
Tavily Settings (Optional)
- Enable Search: Turn web search on/off
- Search Depth: Basic (faster) or Advanced (thorough)
- Max Results: 3-10 results per search
- Domain Filtering: Use trusted domains list
🧪 Testing Checklist
- Chatbot appears on page with shortcode
- Can send messages and receive responses
- Song titles appear as blue links
- Clicking song link opens modal
- Archive.org results load in modal

🔧 Troubleshooting
Song Links Not Appearing?
- Go to Settings → Music Streaming
- Verify “Enable Music Streaming” is checked
- Click “Clear Song Cache”
- Refresh the page
Modal Opens But No Results?
- Go to Music Streaming dashboard
- Check “Database Status” shows 2,340+ shows
- If empty, click “Sync All Years”
- Wait for sync to complete
Chatbot Not Responding?
- Verify Claude API key is correct
- Check API key has sufficient credits
- Look for errors in browser console (F12)
- Check WordPress error logs
